Sarasota and her Islands are widely popular for food-themed events and festivals held throughout the year. The wide selection of superb restaurants in the area and the vibrant Sarasota dining scene have become part of the attraction to homebuyers.
Residential properties with convenient access to excellent dining venues can thus earn extra points on the Sarasota real estate market. Over the years, The Judy Kepecz-Hays Team has developed fondness from some of these restaurants that helped build the Sarasota lifestyle that lured so many. Here are just a few of our favorites.
This iconic Sarasota dining destination has five locations in the area. One is within walking distance from our Team’s office and several canal-front homes in St. Armands. Daiquiri Deck also has locations in Siesta Key Village, South Siesta Key, Anna Maria Island, and Venice.
This restaurant exudes a casual ambiance which is fitting with its tempting trademark cocktails, Frozen Daiquiris. Its Regular and Raw Bar menu includes mouthwatering selections for seafood lovers, such as oysters, shrimps, and clams. Daiquiri Deck also entertains with live music, featuring a variety of local artists.
This is the onsite hotel restaurant of the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota at 1111 Ritz-Carlton Drive. It is the epitome of fine waterfront dining in Sarasota. Here, diners enjoy the picture-perfect view of Sarasota Bay. They can dine within its gorgeous coastal-contemporary dining room or dine al fresco on the covered terrace.
Jack Dusty offers an eclectic menu, including luxurious raw seafood options and well-curated meat entrées. Local seafood fare, such as lobster rolls, swordfish, fish tacos, shrimp, and grits, are all tempting at Jack Dusty.
Mattison’s City Grille
This charming downtown Sarasota restaurant on Main Street is on the same block as the Plaza at 5 Points condominium (where our Team incidentally has a pending sale). It is part of the restaurants that award-winning chef Paul Mattison operates in the Sarasota area. Mattison’s also has locations in downtown Bradenton and South Tamiami Trail. It also runs a catering service.
Traditional American cuisine is the primary specialty of Mattison’s which provides outdoor dining in its Sarasota downtown restaurant. It also features live music entertainment in the evenings.
Located in Longboat Key, this restaurant is at 2605 Gulf of Mexico Drive just north of Islands West Condominium. Residents of the gatedBay Isles real estate development on the Island also enjoy proximity to Maison Blanche.
The restaurant is a domain of French cuisine, courtesy of a Paris-trained chef, Jose Martinez. Every serving at Maison Blanche is haute cuisine–from the meal-starter baguettes and impeccable soups to the truffles and homemade marshmallows served with coffee as a clincher. In-between, the options include flawless caviar, foie gras, and fish and meat entrées.
Shore Longboat Key
A younger sister of the Shore restaurant in St. Armands Circle, this al-fresco coastal eatery opened in August 2019. It took over the Broadway Street site of Moore’s Stone Crab Restaurant that operated in Longboat Key for four decades before it closed in 2015.
The Shore takes pride in its creative recipes that include specialties like Scallop Risotto, Tabasco-honey marinated fried chicken, and ahi tuna with Key West shrimp. The Shore in Longboat seats about 185 people. It is tucked between the town’s public pier and Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub, another popular local dining destination.
An eclectic dining experience is but a slice of the elements that help sell residential properties in Sarasota. Contact The Judy Kepecz-Hays Team to learn more about home buying and selling opportunities in our vibrant property market.
